Case study · EcoGen America · Solar · Published November 2024

One visitor in twelve asked for an estimate.

EcoGen America sells residential solar in Connecticut to homeowners who worry about cost, commitment and whether it will pay back, and most of them arrive on a phone. We built one lead generation page: a local headline, $0 down financing up front, a short Free Solar Estimate form, customer reviews, an EcoGen vs Others table, and a mobile-first build. The page converted at 8.36 percent.

The starting point

Homeowners who hesitate, mostly on a phone

EcoGen America sells residential solar in Connecticut, in a market with established brands already in it. The page had to win estimate requests from people who arrive worried, most of them on a phone.

Trust

Cost, commitment and whether it pays back

Potential customers hesitate because of worries about cost, fear of commitment and trust, and uncertainty about reliability and return on investment complicates the decision further. Every one of those had to be answered on the page before it asked for a name.

Competition

Established brands already in the market

EcoGen America competes with established solar brands for the same homeowners. The brief's answer was personalisation and trust-building, so the page had to feel local and specific rather than like every other solar offer.

Mobile

Six in ten visitors on a phone

60 percent of the traffic comes from mobile and 40 percent from desktop, so the page had to work on a phone first. That means clear messaging that lands in the first screen and a concise form, to capture attention quickly.

Four parts of the page, top to bottom

What went on the page, and why

The page answers the objections in the order a homeowner raises them, and asks for the estimate at each stage.

01 THE HERO

A Connecticut headline, $0 down, and the form

The headline, #1 Solar Experts in Connecticut, speaks to the local audience and connects the brand to its community, with EcoGen America's offers, $0 down financing and personalised estimates, directly under it. The form, Get My Free Estimate, starts in the same screen and collects the essentials: name, address and estimated credit score. It is short because 60 percent of visitors are on a phone.

02 VALUE

Savings, financing and reliability, one section each

The page is structured around the three concerns that stop homeowners. Cost savings, showing the reduced energy bills. Financing flexibility, with $0 down and long-term options set out plainly. Reliability, through EcoGen America's expertise and its positive reviews. Each concern gets its own section rather than a line in a list, so a visitor can go straight to the one holding them back.

03 PROOF

Customer reviews, Google reviews and a personal one

Testimonials from customers and integrated Google reviews build the credibility a new visitor needs before handing over an address. One testimonial is the client's own experience, included as a personal touch. The reviews sit before the comparison table, so the proof comes before the pitch.

04 COMPARISON

EcoGen vs Others, side by side

The EcoGen vs Others table sets out what choosing EcoGen America gets a homeowner that other providers do not, row by row, at a glance. It builds trust and confidence at the point where someone is weighing the options, and the estimate button sits directly under it. The page was then optimised for mobile, with fast loading and forms that are easy to use on a phone.
